Art on Auction!

By Tammy Laval

What a lead-up to the opening of the Articulate: Postcard Exhibition & Competition.

With more than 150 donated works on show, the public had the ability to not only view this collection but part-take in owning amazing art pieces which went to auction on opening night.

The exhibition at Artspace Mackay opened on the 29 September to 18 November as an exhibition, competition, art sale and auction all rolled into one.

Articulate is a fundraising exhibition, competition, art sale and auction proudly presented by Artspace Mackay Foundation which we were proud to host as a sponsor.

More than 150 artworks on canvas had been donated by artists from around the country and opening in The Foyer Gallery at Artspace Mackay. All entries were eligible for valuable prizes in five sections, with winners announced, artworks up for auction on the official opening night, Friday 19October.

Friends and family enjoyed the excitement and lively fun of the art auction, with feature works donated by artists John Honeywill and Jet James, a Director’s Choice silent auction of 10 quality compact canvas works, and all other works in the exhibition for sale. It was a great and fun way to start or add to your art collection, so next year tell your friends and family and share on Facebook to help spread the word, and world of art!
