Staff joins in national celebration of muti-cultural Australia

By Tammy Laval

Today is Harmony Day – a chance for everyone to celebrate the diversity and rich culture of our country.

The message of Harmony Day is that everyone belongs and this year the theme is Many Stories – One Australia.

Ray White Mackay City would mark the day with a special lunch, as they had done for the past three years, office manager Tammy Laval said.

“All staff will bring in a plate of food from a nominated country an we’ll have a big feast,”  Mrs Laval said.

“We’ll celebrate the cultural diversity in the office.”

“Food is known as the centre of bringing people together.”

“Staff look forward to it every year.”

Mrs Laval said today all staff would stop and have a lunch break and mingle. “ More Offices should do, it” Mrs Laval said

“It’s a great event. “We’ll stop and have a break and take turns of covering reception so everyone can participate.  We registered our event through harmony.gov.au and got balloons and posters to decorate the Office.”
